Privacy Policy
Doover is a photo app, so this policy is mostly about photos. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your photos for advertising.
Last updated: August 11, 2026
What Doover processes
- Photos you choose. Only the images you deliberately select or capture in the app. Doover does not scan your photo library in the background.
- Your editing instructions, saved effects, projects, and editing history.
- Account identifiers. If you sign in with Apple we receive an Apple account identifier; if you sign in by phone we receive a verified phone number.
- Service events. Limited diagnostic and reliability data needed to operate the service — for example whether a render succeeded, and error codes.
- Purchases. Which plan you are on and how many credits you have left. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details.
What you choose to make public
Doover has a community where people share effects and finished creations. This is the one part of the app that is not private, so it is worth being precise about:
- Nothing is public unless you publish it. Editing, saving, and keeping a gallery are all private.
- When you publish, the image or effect, its title, and your display name become visible to everyone using Doover — including people who are not signed in. Your phone number, email, and Apple identifier are never shown.
- Published content is screened automatically before it appears, and can be reported and removed. See the Community Guidelines.
- You can remove any publication at any time from inside the app, and deleting your account removes every publication you made along with your name on the leaderboard.
How we use it
We use this information only to authenticate you, generate and store your edits, synchronise your projects and effects across your devices, secure the service, provide support, and understand aggregate product reliability. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not use your photos for advertising or for building advertising profiles.
AI processing
When you request an AI edit, the selected image and your instruction are sent to our contracted AI service provider to produce the result. Our agreement does not permit the provider to use API inputs or outputs to train its general models. Processing happens on servers, not on your device.
Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers acting on our instructions:
- Amazon Web Services — cloud storage, database, and authentication infrastructure (United States).
- OpenAI — AI image generation and prompt compilation for the effect you selected.
- Twilio — sending verification codes if you sign in by phone.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, and subscription billing where applicable.
We may also disclose information if legally required, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.
Storage and security
Cloud media and account data are stored in the United States using encrypted AWS services. Credentials are kept in the iOS Keychain on your device. Access is restricted by short-lived tokens and production monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these protections seriously and keep the amount of data we hold small.
Retention and deletion
You can permanently delete your account from inside the app at Profile → Account → Delete account. Doing so removes live projects, effects, event data, sessions, and the phone identity. Encrypted recovery copies and noncurrent media versions expire within 30 days. Product reliability events otherwise expire after 90 days. Full instructions are on the delete your account page.
Your choices and rights
You control Photos and Camera permissions in iOS Settings, and can sign out or delete your account at any time. Photos you save to your personal Photos library stay under your control and outside the service.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Account deletion in the app satisfies most of these directly; for anything else, email us and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Children
Doover is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
Doover is operated from the United States and your information is processed there. If you use Doover from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the date above and, where appropriate, notified in the app.
